Join STAND Central NJ and ISAAW (Inspiring South Asian American Women) for a tour of the NJ State House on February 3, 2020 starting at 10 a.m. We will visit the State House and Assembly and Senate chambers together, with local experts as tour guides who will update us about the bills likely to be important in the new legislative sessions. We will also arrange for you to meet with your district’s representatives. Contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if this visit interests you, so that we can ensure your representatives are available to meet with you. More information about the time and other logistics will be shared on our website and Facebook pages.
More logistics details:
In addition to the tour, we are expecting our Legislators to stop by to meet with us for a short time before the official tour begins at 10:30.
Please let me know your Legislative District (LD) so I can be sure your representative stops by. If you don’t your LD, send me your full address.
We will meet in the cafeteria (Café NJ) at 9:45 a.m. Cafe NJ is located off the parking garage atrium on level 3, and is accessible via the pedestrian tunnel between the State House and Annex.
We can park in the State House parking lot. Just drive in and say that you are on an official tour run arranged with David N. April, Tour Program Coordinator, Office of Legislative Services. This will give you approval to park in the visitor parking section.
Additional info from the website: Limited free parking is available in the capitol parking garage on weekdays. It is accessed from the rear entrance to the Capitol Complex, off Route 29. Proceed to the guard booth and have a picture ID ready to gain access to the garage. Metered, on-street parking is available along West State Street. Several pay lots are located within walking distance. Parking for wheelchair users is available on West State Street and in the garage.
