Marijuana legalization legislation 2020
Last week, New Jersey voters overwhelming approved legalizing recreational marijuana.
Now, it’s up to state lawmakers to pass enabling legislation to govern and regulate the new industry. The problem is, the current bill would tax legal marijuana so low that there would be almost no revenue to invest in communities harmed by the drug war.

Call your state reps and insist that the marijuana legislation being considered this week should reflect the ballot initiative: revenues should go to help communities and should not fund the police to continue the war on drugs. The bills currently being considered do not center social justice, and they provide more funding to police.
