Systemic racism is an ongoing problem in our nation. Internalized or implicit bias in each of us is an actual, empirical thing. Yet, as humans we often have a really hard time acknowledging this, especially in ourselves. For white people, this can be especially hard and the defensiveness that arises is called “white fragility.” No matter your racial identity, you are invited to reflect on this dynamic. The conversation will be led by two UU ministers who identify as white. If you come, please plan to stay for the whole event. – we’ll be talking about hard things and it’s important we stay through for each other and for ourselves.
