[Webinar] NEPA: The Environmental Review Process, How Pipeline Companies Circumvent it, & How to Fight Back

March 19, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

In the fight against pipelines, compressors and LNG export facilities, The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is one of the primary mechanisms communities can use to fully understand and vet the impacts of an infrastructure proposal and to make the case that a project should not be approved by the powerful agency that is FERC.

Learn about the environmental analysis mandated by the NEPA and some of the ways that FERC and pipeline companies attempt to sidestep this requirement and minimize the appearance of a pipeline’s impacts—by illegally breaking projects into smaller parts (known as segmentation), or by otherwise limiting the scope of the review. Learn what you can do to identify and fight back against this in your community.

This event is part of the Delaware Riverkeeper Network’s 2019 Pipeline Webinar Series: Defeating Shale Gas Infrastructure, Tools for Communities from the Latest Legal Challenges
