Scenes from “Dismantling the Racism Machine: A manual & toolbox”

January 25, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Nationally, White household wealth is 13x that of Black household wealth and 10x that of Latinx household wealth. Why aren’t we taught about this? What can we do to change things? Can we teach our children better?

“Dismantling the Racism Machine: A Manual and Toolbox” is an introductory guide to race and racism that answers these questions and more. It includes tools for action aimed at students, educators and the general public.

Author Dr. Karen Gaffney and The Meta Theatre Company will perform concepts from the book and use interactive theatre to encourage discussion and raise awareness.

Make education an integral part of your MLK Day weekend this year.

While there may be some mature language used by the actors, children are encouraged to attend and learn alongside the adults that they trust.
