Rise and Resist Benefit Concert

Area activist groups sponsor an evening of folk, jazz and bluegrass music to celebrate the energy of the resistance, raise awareness, and support immigration rights, women’s health, and voter mobilization efforts.

The concert will feature inspiring local folk, jazz, and bluegrass musicians, including:

guitarists Rolly Brown, a national fingerpicking champion, and Mark Cosgrove, a national flatpicking champion and current member of the David Bromberg Band; Lambertville jazz singer and pianist Carol Heffler;  New Hope-area singer and songwriter Deva Troy; a Philadelphia-based jazz band, The Ken Ulansey Ensemble, featuring jazz diva Phyllis Chapell; and Pineville singer/songwriter LisaBeth Weber.

Event sponsors comprise Rise Up Doylestown, Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope (ILNH), and Upper BuxMont Rising, which are dedicated to addressing critical issues facing the U.S. today, ranging from the environment; healthcare; civil rights,  justice and ethics in government;  income and gender equality; and other socio-political issues.
