Juneteenth: A Day of Remembrance

Please join the Sankofa Collective on Saturday, 6/23 from 12 noon to 2 pm for a Commemoration of Juneteenth.

– Learn about the history and significance of Juneteenth
– Hear Harriet Tubman describe her work on the Underground Railroad and with the Union Army
– Listen as a Union Army soldier reads General Granger’s Order #3 freeing the last slaves in America
– Join Sister Bertha Morgan in song

The Sankofa Collaborative consists of Grounds For SculptureThe New Jersey Historical SocietyStoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, and 1719 William Trent House Museum.

Purchase lunch or bring your own. Free drinks and ice cream will be provided on the grounds of The Trent House Museum, 15 Market Street, Trenton (across from the Justice Building, with plenty of free parking in the rear).
