Finding Sanctuary for our Immigrant & Refugee Communities
April 20, 2017 @ 6:30 pm
With the recent growth in anti-immigrant sentiment across the country coupled with executive actions directly targeting US immigrant communities and inbound refugees, there’s never been a more important time for citizens to come together in addressing these issues and developing an honest understanding of the contributions and benefits that are brought about by these segments of the population.
Organizing for Action will be bringing together residents from the local community, along with special guests, to view and discuss the powerful documentary The Dream is Now, which challenges the common misconceptions about immigrants in America while shedding light on ways for citizens to mobilize in order to bring about sensible immigration reform legislation.
The event, taking place on April 20th, 2017 and beginning at 6:30pm ET at the historic Barrow Mansion in Jersey City, NJ will encourage all of those present to take action and further solidify Jersey City’s message of inclusion and safety, connecting residents with pro-immigrant organizations & support groups in their area.
The event will be free for all who wish to attend, and streamed on Facebook live for those who are not able to participate in person.
