5th Annual #WearOrange March Across the Brooklyn Bridge

June 3, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Help us make our fifth annual March Across the Brooklyn Bridge even BIGGER and BETTER and BRIGHTER than ever!

This year, we’ll be marching as part of the national #WearOrangemovement to raise awareness about the 90 Americans killed each day by gun violence. More info coming soon – RSVP here so we can send you the details: http://act.everytown.org/event/wear-orange-2017_attend/6072

What is #WearOrange? In 2012, Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old high school student who had just marched in President Obama’s reinaugural parade was killed by gunfire in her hometown of Chicago. Friends of hers decided to hnor her life by wearing orange – the color that hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others. On June 2nd, 2015 – what would have been Hadiya’s 18th birthday – more than 200 organizations and influencers asked people nationwide to join them by wearing orange to honor Hadiya’s life, along with the lives of other victims and survivors of gun violence.
