10 Years of Citizens United: Fighting Corruption with American Promise

February 15, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

The fight against Big Money and “Dark Money” is happening on many fronts. Ten years ago, Citizens United opened the floodgates to huge amounts of cash in elections and made Big Donors — corporate and individuals — the kingpins of political fundraising. In the wake of this Supreme Court decision, the democracy movement led by Represent.Us and American Promise was born.

American Promise works to end Citizens United with a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution. Join us as Marie HenselderKimmel — a fantastic speaker — takes center stage to explain “how, what, and where.” She leads the TriCounty NJ chapter of American Promise.

Beginning in February, we expand our meeting. We’ll start with social time and light refreshments at 10:30 am in the lounge, before moving into Fahs at 11 for our program (no food or drink allowed). At noon, we’ll take another 30 minutes for more Q&A — and whatever is on your mind. Hope to see you!
