Racial Justice Program by The Meta Theater Company

October 24, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

On Tuesday, October 24, we invite you to an evening of live theater beginning at 6:30 PM at Stangl Stage. The program will be devoted to a performance on racial justice by The Meta Theatre Company (MTC), a Hunterdon County-based theater group that creates original performances on topics related to social justice. Their work is in collaboration with a group of women incarcerated at The Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, NJ.

On Thursday, November 9 (also at Stangl Stage at 6:30), we will have a workshop on racism and practical ways we can fight against it in everyday life.

The Meta Theatre Company cast will be back to moderate a follow-up discussion; after this will be a primer on what implicit bias is and how it manifests (led by Catherine Riihimaki ofIGSV), personal stories of racial discrimination in Hunterdon County (moderated by Roia Rafieyan of PHD and the HCARC), and a small-group discussion around more concrete actions people can take as individuals and in groups (moderated by Alexa Offenhauer from the HCARC).

Please invite friends, family, and members of your community to these important events!

Sponsored by Progressive Hunterdon Democrats (PHD), Indivisible Garden State Values (IGSV), and the Hunterdon County Anti-Racism Coalition (HCARC).
