Day of Prayer & Reflection: Unifying our Community Through Prayer

October 24, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Day of Prayer and Reflection will be an event filled with interfaith prayer, music, and reflections on Sacred Texts from Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. Religious leaders from Union County will convene to speak authentically from their faith traditions on how we all share common interests and mutual respect.

Particpants are as follows:

-Sidney Blanchard, Executive Director of Community Access Unlimited, Elizabeth.
-Deacon Timothy Williams, Chair of the UCICC and member of First Baptist Church, Kenilworth.
-The Most Reverend Manuel Cruz, Regional Bishop for Union County.
-Rev. Carl Brewer, Metroppolitan Seventh Day Adventist Church, Plainfield.
-Venerable Klint Kevalin, Dhammakaya Meditation Center, Fanwood.
-Rabbi Cecilia Beyer, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael, Springfield.
-Rev. Barry Wise II, Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Linden.
-Sehem Abdala, New Brunswick Islamic Center; Islamic Society of Central Jersey.
-Cantor Steven Stern, Temple Beth O’r Beth Torah, Clark.

-The Fanwood/Scotch Plains Community Choir with Cantor Matthew Axelrod, Music Director.
-The Choir of the Parish Community of St. Helen, Westfield with Fred Golz, Musical Director.

Follwoing the Day of Prayer and Reflection, there will be a catered reception in the Social Hall of the Parish Community of St. Helen.
